I love the unique blend that maternity sessions with young families offer: joyful anticipation for the next child who will soon join them and the tender gaze on your baby who, before too long, will no longer be your baby, but will suddenly look so much older when the new sibling joins. It's a beautiful, sweet time, and I was honored to capture it for this family at Chilliwack's Island 22 Regional Park. Here are some highlights.

Anticipating the arrival of your first baby is wild. On one hand, you know what to expect — a baby is coming and everything is about to change and you prepare accordingly — but you also don’t know what to expect, because the baby still manages to be a total surprise you can’t be fully prepared for! It’s such a uniquely precious time.
