Vancouver Catholic Wedding Photographer | January Catholic Wedding in Powell River, BC | Hidden Lives Photography

Hannah & Leith were married in early January on a remarkably (and miraculously) beautiful day in Powell River, BC. Despite warnings of constant rain and coastal flooding, the rain halted right before their wedding Mass began and the sun even came out, and our plan for bridal portraits at the beach was not thwarted by mother nature.

This small weather miracle, while wonderful as far as the wedding photography was concerned, was only a sign of the greater miracle taking place that day: two wonderful people given to each other and to the Love that brought them together, and their two families joining together with their friends to celebrate their love and new life. The music was incredible, fitting for Hannah’s musical background and participation in the wonderful Vancouver area sacred music choir, Sacred Music Sundays. She and Leith even had a communion motet commissioned specifically for their nuptial Mass. I’ll admit to shedding a few tears on the other side of the camera at one particularly beautiful moment in the liturgy that was punctuated with the gorgeous sacred music.

I am struck by something different at every wedding I document. This time, I was struck by two things: the beauty that radiated from Hannah & Leith and informed every aspect of their day, from the Mass, to the music, to the portraits and the reception, and the contagious joy their families and friends shared that day. It was such an honor to be a part and documenter of their day. Here is a glimpse into their January wedding.
